Manulife offers short-term GICs ranging from 30 to 364 days and long-term GIC ranging from 1 to 5 years. The short-term GIC require a $25,000 minimum investment and can be redeemed earlier – at a cost. Interest rates are tiered such that large deposits attract higher rates.
The long-term GICs are non-redeemable and offer Canada’s highest GIC interest rates. Tiered interest rates are provided depending on your selected option. If you take the monthly interest option, you have to invest a minimum of $10,000. Payments are offered monthly, semi-annually, and annually with compounded interest options. There are no set-up or maintenance fees for both GIC categories.
Manulife provides several mortgage options, non-registered accounts, tax-free savings accounts, RRSP, and dealer accounts. It also offers investment loans, credit lines, and specialized lending. Corporates and businesspeople are also catered for. The popular advantage account is available for personal and business use. It is an all-in-one account with a high-interest rate.
